Locally made using traditional techniques

Using traditional methods, Duro Pasta is extruded through bronze dies using high quality Italian made equipment. The pasta is then slowly dried at low temperatures to best preserve the natural flavour of the wheat without changing the nutritional benefits.

  • What is Bronze Extruded?

    Duro Pasta is extruded using traditional bronze dies which create a rough, porous surface that results in a superior texture with increased sauce capturing capabilities than the smooth Teflon dies commonly used by large industrialised pasta manufacturers. The coarse exterior of the pasta grabs and holds the sauce as well as ensuring a desirable mouth feel.

  • Why is it Slow dried?

    The best things take time and It takes a minimum of 30 hours from production to packaging of our pasta. Once extruded the pasta is slowly dried at low temperatures, never exceeding 36 degrees for a minimum of 24 hours to preserve the natural flavour and nutritional qualities of the wheat. The pasta is then rested before being packaged by hand.

  • Is Small Batch better?

    Smaller batches mean we focus on quality rather than quantity. Respecting the process and the raw ingredient results in a more delicious and nutritious product. Modern large pasta factories can produce vast quantities in much shorter production times by using higher heat and faster equipment like teflon dies but that will always be at the sacrifice of quality.
